Once again, female power, passion, and sex appeal come seeping out of P La Cangri’s music. Hard at work in the studio for the summer P has cooked up a promising lineup of hits that are true to her work ethic and raw talent. Behind the tough Brooklyn-girl exterior is a beautiful soul that speaks of love, heartbreak and the struggles endured in the music industry that have shaped her unique and vibrant sound. In P’s world it’s all about staying true, never selling out, and daring to call out the opponent to a around-about of battling lyricism, but who will step up? Whether its the Cuban blood or the Puerto Rican influences fueling this star’s fire I can’t decipher, but what is real at any moment in her artistic trajectory is the love and dedication stamped on her product. Stay tuned for her new album’s release P La Cangri Viene Duro!
“Representando con orgullo la Mujer Latina; La transicion ha comenzado”
It is evident that the Cuban rapper is devoted to one thing; representing Latinas worldwide with class and style. P La Cangri, one of the leading ladies in the Latin Urban movement, is transitioning from the booth into the voice of Bacardi’s latest commercial. The Hip Hop stunner narrates what seems to be a monumental moment in Cuba’s revolution and the highlight of the action-filled commercial; a minute that speaks louder than imagined.
“My accent on the day-to-day is Carolina calle Puerto Rico, so I had my mom read the script to me and I recorded it and listened to it 100 times then imagined my grandmother reading it.” Says the MC.
Having been born in Cuba, raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico, and now residing in New Jersey P La Cangri has learned from the various environments that have shaped her, and she certainly uses this to her advantage. A tweet, a “Hello”, or a quick shout out is never too tedious for the Urban talent as she acknowledges her supporters and embraces the love and admiration they express; a trait that is sure to keep her on the rise. Her charismatic persona and her artistic versatility have led her to be the only woman in the luxury cigar brand Davidoff of Geneva commercial which portrays male dominance. The Davidoff name has grown into a global commodity with over 60 Davidoff flagship stores worldwide, and P La Cangri happens to be the only female spokesperson along for the ride.
So, if you’re feeling like being a Latina is a disadvantage in today’s competitive thrive or if you simply need some inspiration then I suggest you search up P La Cangri. Be your own judge of what a strong, dedicated, and passionate Latina can do, and yes, in America.
Now this woman right here is a constant reminder of hard work. I did not choose this track because of its witty nature, but I chose it because it speaks to who P La Cangri is as an artist. She represents Cuba, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic but most importantly she represents the fire that is in each one of us Latin females. She is a Diva without the overpriced nails, she spits rhymes well in a booth as she does on the streets she calls her own. P La Cangri is for the Urban movement; she is for the people.
If you’re for strong women holding it down for the Latin Urban movement I want you to do 3 things:
